What could be more fun than a day at the beach? Maya shows Eli the finer points of
digging in the sand at Hayden Lake. We had such a great time together.

Rose Challenge Quilt 2011

Here is the finished quilt for my quilt group's challenge.  The theme for the challenge was simply "rose."
I started with the rose fabric and was able to do the whole quilt without buying any  new fabric! Using up my stash fabric is always a good thing.  Also, this is the first time I have used flying geese as a border.
 It was a little intimidating because of measuring, but it came out fine I think.

I spent a fun, relaxing week-end with my sisters in Seattle a couple weeks ago.
Here we are having breakfast on the plaza at our hotel. We enjoyed shopping, reading
and a cruise around the harbor. You can't beat Seattle for fresh seafood, fresh air
and easy access to all you want to see. Really love spending time with my sisters!

In The Works

This is the challenge quilt I've been working on the last week or so. All of the fabrics except one were left over from other projects or taken from my stash. I used the brown floral as my focus fabric and went from there. The Theme for this challenge was "Rose." Now must add the borders.....

Lookin' Out my Back Door

Yes, I'm ready for summer but winter keeps persisting! Snow showers every day and now cold temperatures. I guess I 'll hibernate a little longer.... At least I have plenty of time to read and do other things I enjoy! Life is good.

Ready For Summer!

Even though summer may be a few months away, a girl can dream can't she?

This fun little quilt is what I'm working on today. I keep thinking of being at the lake

with my famly, or having a BBQ out on the patio. I love the bright colors and prints.

I got to spend the day with this handsome little guy and his sister on Friday!
Even though they both weren't feeling so good, he had a moment to give his
Grandma this wide-eyed grin. What a cutie!

Sewing Room Update!

A couple weeks ago, I painted my sewing room a nice brown taupe color. Okay, you can see in the photos, the creative process is still in action, but it is an improvement to me and feels more welcoming. My friend Tanya does the vinyl wall decor that you see in the photo.
