What FUN looks like:
I just had to share this picture of two of my grandchildren, Maya and Eli, while sledding. Is there anything cuter? Love this photo and these two kiddos!

The September Wedding!
Josh and Melissa tied the knot in early September in McCall Idaho. The event was attended by only family and was a great time for all to get together! They were married on the beach on Payette Lake on a beautiful summer evening. We are so excited to have a new daughter in law and wish them all the best!

Rose Challenge Quilt 2011
Here is the finished quilt for my quilt group's challenge. The theme for the challenge was simply "rose."
I started with the rose fabric and was able to do the whole quilt without buying any new fabric! Using up my stash fabric is always a good thing. Also, this is the first time I have used flying geese as a border.
It was a little intimidating because of measuring, but it came out fine I think.

Here we are having breakfast on the plaza at our hotel. We enjoyed shopping, reading
and a cruise around the harbor. You can't beat Seattle for fresh seafood, fresh air
and easy access to all you want to see. Really love spending time with my sisters!

Sewing Room Update!
A couple weeks ago, I painted my sewing room a nice brown taupe color. Okay, you can see in the photos, the creative process is still in action, but it is an improvement to me and feels more welcoming. My friend Tanya does the vinyl wall decor that you see in the photo. (Just one more stitch.) She has an Etsy shop if you're interested in her doing some for you! Her prices are very reasonable. http://www.etsy.com/shop/WorldofAKD

Saying Goodbye to Soxie

Today I had to say goodbye to my favorite kitty, Sox, who was 95 in cat years, 15 in people years. He was not getting well. It was hard to do but I feel it was the right decision. I will sure miss that little guy. He was a very good pet, and quite spoiled I might add. Here he is in happier times:
He used to like coming into my sewing room to make his presence known. What a sweetheart.

Our new Grandson is here! Eli Ray Carlsen was born Thursday evening, May 27 and is a big healthy boy at 9 pounds! I spent the whole afternoon yesterday holding him, when I realized maybe his mother would like a turn! He is so sweet and can't wait to see him again!
And this is how Maya feels about it! (She loves her little brother) and you don't want to try holding him if she's around!
That's HER baby brother!
Aren't grandkids the best?

Baby Shower for a BOY!
Lisa's friends gave her a baby shower on her birthday! I appointed myself to be the photographer and sat back and and enjoyed the whole affair. Here are some of the highlights!
